Mizuno’s Chris Voshall discusses the ST SERIES

Mizuno’s own Chris Voshall joined Ian and Matt at TXG Official / Toronto to answer questions on the ST SERIES launch.

One topic of conversation was the split personality of the ST-X driver – with its draw biased weighting. Which Voshall pinpointed also made it more workable for better players.

If you move the mass closer to the hosel, there’s a secondary thing in that. Having a minimised distance from CG to the shaft axis allows you to manipulate the head a bit more. Yes, it allows you to close it down, but it also puts the player a little bit more in control. It’s the easier driver to turn over, but you can work with the X pretty easily.

Voshall used a muscleback analogy to illustrate his point.

Almost all blades have the shortest CH to shaft axis of any irons and they’re the most workable irons.
