Mizuno Pro 221, 223 225 – 1st impressions by TXG Official.

‘I don’t think i’ve been more impressed by an iron’.

Arguably the world’s leading independent custom fit studio – ‘TXG Official’ of Toronto took its first look at the new Mizuno Pro irons. The team were particularly impressed with the more compact profile of Mizuno’s most playable new model – the Mizuno Pro 225 / HMB. But overall Mizuno’s ability to produce irons for different levels of player that provided both the appropriate level of help and ‘shot to shot the ability to be consistent’

When I first took the Mizuno Pro 225 out of the box I thought it was the 221 – it’s quite a bit slimmer than the original HMB. In terms of hollow body irons, they (Mizuno) may now have the best looking one.

This is the Mizuno for the masses – it screams Mizuno . It has the shapes and lines and flow of a Mizuno head. but it is designed for the masses. Good luck telling it apart from the 221. I don’t think i’ve been more impressed with an iron.

MizunoPro 223

It’s a nice feeling iron that gets more lively in the mid irons – it’s a very quick iron. When we tested the MMC (predecessor) – it wasn’t the fastest off the face for ball speed. Seems like they’ve addressed that with the 223.

It’s kind of a hybrid JPX and MP model. We’re really impressed – Mizuno don’t let us down and they don’t let you guys down. Shot to shot its the ability to be consisent – that the differentiating factor.

MizunoPro 221

The softness and acoustics from this iron might allow you to play a firmer ball. I’ve played some of the old MP-29s, MP-33s and MP-32s – but the new 1025E forging with copper underlay is by far the softest feel and most solid feedback I’ve ever seen from them. I love what they’ve done.
