Saigo heading to US Open after 5th JLPGA season win

Mizuno’s hottest talent secures 5th win of 2022

Mizuno’s form player of 2022 – Mao Saigo (22) is headed to the US after winning her 5th JLPGA event of 2022.  Japan’s hottest player secured the BRIDGESTONE LADIES OPEN over the weekend – extending her JLPGA streak to 5 wins in 2022.  Saigo’s most recent win came at Sodegaura Country club in Chiba.

With her 5th win of the season, Saigo enters the world’s top 20 and will head to the US to test herself at the Women’s US Open, followed by the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.

Mao has had an incredible 2022 – but we’re obviously very keen to see how this run of form translates into the Majors.  We have to remember that she is still incredibly young – but it’s hard not to be optimistic.

Meanwhile, another fast-rising Mizuno player was getting his first taste of US competition at the PGA Championship.  Laurie Canter looked at home, comfortably making the cut and finishing a creditable 6 over par.  Just 2 shots behind his more experienced Mizuno team-mate Keith Mitchell.
