US players assemble in Japan for Mizuno ST200 driver testing
Mizuno was delighted to welcome its US PGA Tour staff to Japan in October for the ZOZO Championship – the first Japan based tournament to be co-sanctioned by the PGA Tour.

Honda Classic winner Keith Mitchell, Lucas Glover, Adam Schenk and Jhonattan Vegas all made the trip to Japan – accompanied by Mizuno’s US PGA Tour manager (and noted former player) Jeff Cook. The tournament held in Inzai, Chiba Prefecture boasted the largest purse of any tournament held in Japan. With $9.75 million dollars available to the field – which in turn attracted more than 80,000 visitors keen to watch the world’s best golfers assemble.
Mizuno ST200 Driver Testing
The tournament gave Mizuno’s Japan based R&D team a rare opportunity to complete further ST200 driver testing with its US contracted players. As a result of testing, Mizuno fast tracked its upcoming metalwoods onto the USGA confirming lists. The listings include Mizuno ST200, Mizuno ST200G and Mizuno ST200X drivers.
The ZOZO Championship proved to be a really valuable event for Mizuno – with all our key people at one place at one time. Mizuno is the one Japanese club manufacturer that’s completely relevant in the west – so it’s the one time we get to have home advantage.
