Gwladys Nocera signs for Mizuno

Mizuno already has major winners Stacy Lewis and Jiyai Shin in an impressive ladies line up and Nocera will hope that the collaboration will help her make the next step in her career.

The development marks a subtle shift in Mizuno’s tour policy, with an increasing depth in the ladies game and a move towards fuller bags – including driver and fairway woods.

Mizuno’s European stable of Chris Wood, Daan Huizing, Magnus A Carlsson and Ricardo Gonzales have all played the JPX EZ woods in 2014. Dutch prodigy Huizing has also signed a new Mizuno deal early in 2014 – showing Mizuno have its eyes clearly on the future.

Englishman Luke Donald and the popular Charles Howell III continue to lead Mizuno’s profile on the USPGA Tour.

“We are slightly reshaping Mizuno’s approach to the tour,” commented Alex Thorne, Mizuno Tour Operations Manager. “After long being known as purely a better players iron brand, we’re slowly being recognized for some very good woods. Without tearing up the blueprint of what’s made Mizuno so successful, we’re gradually making sure that our tour presence represents how we are evolving as a club manufacturer.”
