Keith Mitchell leads ‘Overall Driving’ stats at Genesis Invitational

PGA Tour driver stats ensure Mizuno’s CORTECH Chamber no longer a secret

Keith Mitchell and Mizuno both demonstrated their intent to make a serious impact on the Tour scene in 2023 –  at the Riviera Country Club, Genesis Invitational.  Despite finally slipping  5 shots behind the eventual winner, there were moments on day 4 where Mitchell’s superior driving and ball striking had him within touching distance of a 2nd PGA Tour title.

While Mitchell’s putter ran a little cold on Sunday, his Mizuno ST-Z 230 driver by contrast remained red hot.  Boosted by Mizuno’s new CORTECH Chamber, Mitchell leads the PGA Tour the ‘overall driving’ stats post the Genesis Invitational by some distance.  An impressive achievement considering the elevated company.  According to PGA Tour stats – Mitchell averages 312yards with driver  (14th), yet an impressive 11th in accuracy.  Creating an overall driver score of 25, with the next best player scoring 56.

Keith is one of the players where only his peers really appreciate how good he is.  Plenty of bigger names envy how naturally Keith laces those 320 yard fairway finders.  But there’s also a difference about Keith in 2023 – an extra determination to force his way into the Ryder Cup picture.    We’re thankful Keith is demonstrating that the new Mizuno driver is equally underrated.  Leading the driving stats against that group of players and drivers is no minor accomplishment.

David Matthews, Mizuno

Mizuno has recently unveiled its ST-230 SERIES of metal-woods, with a CORTECH Chamber nicknamed ‘The Missing Piece’ within the company.  After a rapid-fire series of metal woods with its ST Project, Mizuno believes that the added ball speed created by its new technology elevates the new drivers to the very top of the industry rankings.  Mitchell appears to have demonstrated that point.

Mitchell has recently switched to the Mizuno ST-Z 230 driver with CORTECH Chamber.

Mitchell and the ST-Z are ranked the best combination of player and driver through the Genesis Invitational.
