Stacy Lewis to captain successive Solheim Cup teams

2nd Solheim Cup captaincy announced for Stacy Lewis

Two-time major champion and long-time Mizuno player Stacy Lewis role as U.S. Solheim Cup Team captain has been extended until 2024 – now covering two tournaments.  Lewis is already the serving US captain and will lead at Finca Cortesin in Andalucia, Spain .  Lewis represented the U.S. on the 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017 Solheim Cup Teams.

Mizuno now has 2 current serving team captains – with Luke Donald the current 2023 Ryder Cup European captain.  Curiously both Donald and Lewis were also world #1 ranked players at the same time.

Fellow Mizuno player Luke Donald is also a serving team captain for 2023.

To have both Luke and Stacy as serving team captains more than a decade after they both held world #1 status is a unique achievement and very special for Mizuno.

LAUREN SMITH, MIZUNO

This is such an amazing honor, to be asked to again captain the U.S. Solheim Cup Team. Receiving the first call was one of the highest points of my career, and I am truly grateful to add this second opportunity.  I’ve said it many times – representing the United States and wearing our colors are experiences that stand out in any player’s career. To have the chance to lead our country’s best players twice, and especially in 2024 outside our nation’s capital, is a true privilege.

STACY LEWIS
