European amateur #1 huizing, wood and siem sign to mizuno tour team
Mizuno announce new contracts for Huizing, Marcel Siem and Chris Wood

Mizuno has announced the addition of sparkling former amateur star Daan Huizing to bolster its future European Tour credentials. Huizing will join a Mizuno European Tour team including Marcel Siem and Chris Wood – both of whom have signed new Mizuno contracts to start the 2013 season.
Mizuno believes they have captured a major new star of European golf and potential Open Championship contender in 22 year old links specialist Daan Huizing. The Dutchman played Mizuno irons on his way to becoming the #1 ranked amateur in Europe – before turning professional at the end of 2012. Huizing was the shining light of amateur golf in 2012, winning the Lytham Trophy and St Andrews Links Trophy – posting a record 23 under par at St Andrews. Huizing won twelve national and international titles in 2010, 2011 and 2012.
Mizuno Tour Operations Manager Andy Kikidas, “We met Daan several years ago at the Dutch Open when he walked onto our workshop as an amateur looking for support. We’ve supported Daan with his equipment and followed his progress ever since and are incredibly excited that he’s signed with Mizuno as a professional.”
The maturing German Marcel Siem, winner of the 2012 French Open has agreed terms with Mizuno after re-joining the brand just last season – finishing with a career high 14th position on the money list. Joining Siem is Englishman Chris Wood, signing a new multi year deal in his quest for a first European Tour title. Wood, still just 25 and tipped by many as the next big name in English golf has signed to wear Mizuno’s technical apparel – in addition to his bag and club deal.
Mizuno have also secured prior contracted players on new agreements – Magnus A Carlsson, Peter Whiteford, Ignacio Garrido, Gary Orr and Ricardo Gonzalez. They will be joined by Tour School graduates Lasse Jensen and David Griffiths.
