Donald takes on Mark Crossfield with 9 holes of matchplay
Mizuno’s Luke Donald was well out of his comfort zone on Monday 23rd May – when he agreed to take on You Tube personality and golf pro Mark Crossfield at Billingbear Park’s 9 hole pay and play.
In the week of the BMW PGA Championship where Donald is a two time winner, he would normally be seen preparing on Wentworth’s luxurious fairways. Donald however showed he was ready for anything by turning up ready for battle at the neat Berkshire 9 hole layout.
“Sometimes a normal golf course can make a level playing field,” speculated Crossfield. “The greens are a bit slower than they are used to and the conditions can throw their games off a little. It’s great to see an elite tour player out of their comfort zone.”
On the day Billingbear’s green-staff did themselves proud and provided a platform for Donald to showcase his talents.
