Stacy wins 2013 vare trophy with 69.484 average
Lewis leads 2013 scoring average on LPGA Tour
Although Mizuno’s Stacy Lewis didn’t quite manage to win the LPGA Tour season finale, the JPX825 player did manage a more significant achievement.
Lewis captured the Vare Trophy for low scoring average on the 2013 LPGA Tour at 69.484 strokes per round, the first time an American won the award since Beth Daniel in 1994.
Lewis demonstrated her incredible consistency in the season’s last tournament – finishing with rounds of 71-73-63-71. Lewis’s tournament average of 69.5 was just 0.016 shots off her season’s mark.
Lewis who achieved her incredible consistency using Mizuno’s JPX825 pro irons, MP-T4 wedges and a JPX825 hybrid – commented, “I’ve been playing good golf and it’s been a great season. I’m keen to get working with Mizuno again in the off season and see if there’s any room to squeeze a little more improvement in 2014.”
