STEVEN FISK WINS FIRST KORN FERRY EVENT
Breakthrough win for Mizuno’s first ‘Next Gen’ recruit.
Mizuno’s Steven Fisk (26) claimed his breakthrough win on the Korn Ferry – winning the Club Car Championship in a playoff at The Landings and Athletic Club.
After a steady 1 under front 9, Fisk birdied 3 of the last 4 holes to force the play-off, which he won on the first hole.
Fisk was one of the first recruits to Mizuno’s ‘Next Gen’ project, signing soon after turning professional after a standout college career at Georgia Southern University. Born in Atlanta, Fisk has close connections to Mizuno, with its US head office also in Atlanta.
Fisk plays a full Mizuno bag with irons and driver (details below).
Driver – STZ 230 driver
Irons: MP241 – 6 to 9, MP243 – #5 , MP245 – #4 , MP Pro Fli Hi – #3
Wedges: T-22 raw wedges – 46, 50, 56
This is a win everyone at Mizuno has been looking forward to since Steven joined. We’ve always known that Steven has abundant natural talent – sometimes, the break or invite doesn’t come quite as quickly. Steven has had to work his way through and will be much better for it.
When we filmed with all our players back in October – everyone involved was so impressed with Steven’s all-round game. Before he turned pro, Steven had never had a coach, so a couple of extra years to work on his game before the bigger stage was probably a blessing.
