Mizuno has unveiled an improved version of its RB566 Balanced Performance ball and a completely new high-speed ball, the RB MAX, available now.
The RB MAX is an entirely new ball for Mizuno – combining a Tour ball’s speed and launch characteristics with a more durable cover. Created using a new DualCore – with a soft inner to enhance feel, with a firmer, resilient outer, allowing greater energy transfer. The RB MAX also features Mizuno’s AXIALFLOW dimple to reduce drag – for enhanced distance and penetration through the wind.
Suitable for mid to high swing speeds.
The RB566 is an even softer feeling version of its predecessor with a new micro-dimple configuration to maintain hang-time past the apex of flight. With a softer yet higher energy core, the RB566 offers a great balance of high trajectory, soft feel and all-round performance.
Suitable for mid to low swing speeds.
“Testing with real golfers, we’ve seen that there genuinely isn’t a ‘best’ ball for everyone. No one wants to leave yards on the table, and everyone wants great feel and spin around the greens. Yet how we create that is very dependent on clubhead speed and the playing conditions.”
David Llewellyn – Director of R&D / Mizuno USA
“The RB Max is for every amateur player who likes the speed and flight control of a Tour-type ball, with increased durability. Plenty of amateurs with good clubhead speed will see better results from a slightly firmer ball.” David Llewellyn - Director of R&D / Mizuno USA
Suitable for mid to high swing speeds.
Within the DUAL DIMPLE, the smaller dimple works to slow the velocity of the air, increasing lift
“With a softer ball like the RB566, feel is a priority and aerodynamics become the key to maintaining distance. We’ve found that at lower swing speeds, the higher, straighter flight of the RB566 and impact of the smaller dimples outweigh any minor loss of ball speed (of a harder ball).”
David Llewellyn – Director of R&D / Mizuno USA
Suitable for mid to low swing speeds.
Creates a satisfying balance of ball speed and softer feel.
At mid/low ball speeds, the lift effect of both Micro and D-Dimples become effective at extending overall flight.
For a blend of greenside feel and all-year-round durability.
Within the DUAL DIMPLE, the smaller dimple works to slow the velocity of the air, increasing lift.
These MICRO DIMPLES contribute additional lift force as the ball decelerates, resulting in increased carry distance.
At high velocity, air goes through
At low velocity, Micro Dimple increases lift
